Do you have Wi-Fi?
Wi-Fi is available on the property, and we offer the best connection possible in a remote location; however, it may be affected by weather and is beyond our control, so we encourage you to unplug and unwind. Cell service is also limited, so we recommend downloading maps and any essential information prior to arrival. A satellite phone is available at the office for emergencies.
Is there cell service?
Yes, it is also limited. However, Telus and Bell generally provide reception, though it may be inconsistent depending on your exact location.
Is there a laundry facility on-site?
Yes, there is a laundry facility on site for guests. Complementary detergent is provided if needed.
Check-In & Arrival
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.
What if I arrive late?
If you plan to arrive after 10:00 PM, please call ahead so we can make the necessary arrangements for a smooth, self-service check-in.
Noise
Is there train noise at the property?Is there train noise at the property?
Yes, Baker Creek is located near an active railway, so there may be occasional train noise throughout the year. Trains pass by intermittently, both day and night. The property has historical ties to the railway, as it was once associated with CP Rail.
Food & Wildlife Safety
Are there bears in the area?
Yes—this is bear country, though sightings in the campground are rare. Proper food storage is essential to keep both guests and wildlife safe.
Where should I store food?
All food, coolers, and scented items must be stored in your vehicle or in your cabin/suite when not in use. Never leave food outside of your cabins or units.
Connectivity & Work
Can I work remotely on this property?
Wi-Fi and cell signal is very limited, but some guests use mobile hotspots or travel to nearby Lake Louise Village for connectivity.
Safety & Practical Info
Are the firepits safe for use?
Baker Creek does not monitor the outdoor fire pits by the river. Guests are asked to exercise caution when using them. Firewood is provided; however, fires must never be left unattended, and children should be supervised at all times. Baker Creek is not responsible for any incidents or injuries.
Is there anything I should be aware of near the river?
Yes, riverbanks can be unstable and trails are unsupervised. Please use caution at all times.
